Falls Rotary Club Named 'Volunteer Group of the Year'

Over the years the club has donated 3,000 hours of volunteer time and raising over $360,000 for Menomonee Falls, Sussex and surrounding communities in Waukesha County

The United Way of Waukesha County recently named the Menomonee Falls Area Rotary Club the 2013 Volunteer Group of the Year.

The award, sponsored by the Honorable Paul Reilly and Kristin Reilly, specifically recognized the club’s efforts over the years donating over 3,000 hours of volunteer time and raising over $360,000 for Menomonee Falls, Sussex and surrounding communities in Waukesha County.

“It is such an honor to receive this type of recognition for the work that our community Rotary Club has done over the years.  Rotary is all about 'Service Above Self'," said long-time Rotarian Mike Baumann. "So while we certainly do not donate our time and money to be recognized, we are proud to represent all of the outstanding volunteer organizations throughout Waukesha County, as well as Rotary International, by receiving this award.”

As part of the award the club was also provided the opportunity to designate a $500 donation to the Waukesha County nonprofit of their choice.

“Maybe the most exciting part of receiving of this award, was the ability for our Club to designate the $500 donation directly back to ARCh,” Club President Ric Hartman said.  “After all of the hard work that we have done with ARCh, and the fact that they nominated our Club for this fantastic award, it was our honor to designate the $500 award to them.”
