The Menomonee Falls girls softball team heads to state today for their opening round matchup against Appleton East in Madison.

The girls are playing the role of the underdog, but that hasn't dampened the spirits of any member of the team or the coaching staff. Head Coach Nick Heiting told the girls there's no pressure on them Thursday, and they'll take to the field knowing their best effort will put them in the win column. Most of all, he told the girls to have fun.
Patch caught up with the girls Wednesday during their final practice at Willowood Park to get the team's perspective on the season, and get their thoughts on the team's state tournament berth.
