Falls Sibling Wrestlers Compete Across Oceans

Jerrott and Billy Holz will be in a different state - or country - virtually every weekend competing in national and international wrestling tournaments.

Jerott Holz competed at 130 pounds in The Mazovia Cup International Freestyle Wrestling competition in Warsaw, Poland this past weekend.

Jerrott competed against wrestlers from Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine. Jerott was in a 26-man bracket and went 5-2 on this way to fifth place.

"This was a great accomplishment for Jerott as he was giving up a fair amount of weight, and has only been training at Freestyle (International style) for the past six weeks," said his father Bill Holz.

Across the ocean, Jerrott's brother Billy was bringing home some hardware himself.

Billy won his second national championship in two years by winning the NUWAY Nationals in the 125-pound, 15- to 16-year-old division in Battle Creek, Michigan. He defeated state place winners from as far away as Maryland on his way to the top of the podium and in gaining NUWAY Wrestling All American status.

"Billy had a great day and won the tournament despite being on the young side of the age group this year," Bill Holz said.

Just two weeks ago both Billy and Jerott competed in, and earned third place , at the USA Wrestling Corn Cob Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa. They plan on competing out of state almost every weekend for the next several months.
