Falls' Brett Hartmann Cut From Houston Texans

Hartmann averaged 44.4 yards per punt last year with the Texans before sustaining a season-ending knee injury.

Falls kicking sensation has been cut from the Houston Texans as teams gradually scale down toward a 53-man roster to start the National Football League season.

Hartmann was the Texans’ punter last season and made the team as an undrafted rookie free agent. However, he suffered a season ending knee injury in week 13. He averaged 44.4 yards per punt and also notched 23 touchbacks as the team's kickoff specialist as well, according to ESPN.com.

Hartmann would have served a three-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Hartmann told FOX26 in Houston he had taken Ritalin without approval. His initial punishment was four games, but the NFL reduced it to three.
