Indians Shoot For Greater Metro Lead Tuesday Against Top-ranked Marquette

The Indians look to get back to their winning ways Tuesday against the state's best team in a Greater Metro showdown.

The Menomonee Falls Indians varsity soccer team will face off against Marquette University Tuesday in what is sure to be the game of the season so far.

The Indians (8-2-2, 3-0 Greater Metro) will take on their toughest foe of the season when they take on the Hilltoppers (7-0-1, 3-0 Greater Metro) for the top spot in the conference at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Quad Park in Milwaukee. The Hilltoppers are the top-ranked team in the state, according to a Sept. 4 poll on Wissports.net.

However, before that by getting the best of Kettle Moraine, Brookfield Central, and Wauwatosa East. For the first time in the team’s history, they swept the Brookfield soccer teams.

The Indians are putting together a historic season thus far, and the team has rallied behind Jake Brust who leads the team with five goals and four assists. A victory over the Hilltoppers would bump the Indians up a few spots in the state rankings, and add another big victory to an already memorable season.

The Hilltoppers are coming off a 4-0 win against Brookfield East, and haven’t surrendered a goal since the Green Bay Preble tournament Aug. 25. They’ve outscored their opponents 10-0 in the past three games.
