Ally's opened last summer, and will soon celebrate its first full year in Menomonee Falls. Owners Rodney and Michelle Zimmerman left their home in northern Wisconsin and moved their family to Menomonee Falls last to start their newest business venture, which is named after their 14-year-old daughter.

A couple readers noted in the comment stream that didn't make the original list, but it was quickly added. However, Ally's defenders quickly swooped in and made their case for the young bistro.
“Ally's puts this place to shame. I'm actually full after eating at Ally's and never was at Panera,” said Patch reader Jann.
