Village President Randy Newman Will Seek a Second Term

Newman would like to see major developments, which he helped start while on the board, to completion.

Village President Randy Newman said Monday he plans to run for reelection in 2012.

Newman was elected to the Village Board in 2005 and served as a trustee for one term, and was elected Village President in 2009 after defeating challenger Jefferson Davis handily.

Newman said he’d like to see some completion of the major redevelopment projects he’s helped kick start on the board. Currently, the Main Street corridor is the most notable work in progress.

“There’s unfinished business and I figure I got to see out the development on Main Street. I was part of the start so I don’t want to abandon it now,” Newman said.

Newman added that he still is likes serving the public, and he promised himself he’d continue to do so as long as he enjoyed it.
