Falls' Development Director Wins Acclaim

Community Development Director Matt Carran won an award for his positive impact on the community, and effective relationships with commercial realtors.

Menomonee Falls has been home to a number of large-scale development projects over the past two years. And Community Development Director Matt Carran received some recognition for his role is those undertakings.

The Commercial Association of Realtors presented Carran with the “Friend of CARW Award” Tuesday at Vogel Hall in Milwaukee. The award is given annually to a public official that works with commercial realtors to positively impact the community.

"It was a great honor to have been chosen for this award," Carran said Wednesday from the CDA office, which was decorated with balloons honoring his achievement.

Carran has worked with Falls for 17 years and started as a planning intern. He worked his way up the chain of command and was eventually appointed to his current position in 2008. Carran has helped streamline the permitting process, oversaw the formation of 12 taxing districts in the village.

Since 1995, the Falls’ population has grown 27 percent, and the overall assessed value of the village has grown 127 percent.
