The 19-year-old suspect allegedly confessed to attacking a 20-year-old Menomonee Falls woman July 12.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department has arrested a suspect in connection to the assault of a 20-year-old Menomonee Falls woman.

Sheriffs arrested a 19-year-old Richfield man, who is the prime suspect in an assault that occurred July 12 at the Richfield Historical Park. The 20-year-old woman was walking her dog. She was treated and released for injuries. The Menomonee Falls Police Department assisted in the investigation, and interviewed the girl from a home on Appleton Avenue.

She said the man came toward her brandishing a knife. The woman struggled with the man, and attempted to take the knife. In the process, she was injured but able to escape. She fled and called police from a Menomonee Falls home.
