Police Beat: Unknown Projectile Shot Through a Home

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls police reports.

A mysterious projectile flew through a house on the W17000 block of Roger Avenue sometime between Jan. 9 and Sunday.

According to the Menomonee Falls Police report:

An unknown suspect shot a projectile through the front door of the house, which passed through the siding, the drywall, and eventually landed in a closed to a room. The room was in the center of the house, and hadn’t been used in four weeks.

A field technician with the MFPD said the projectile could have been a .22 round, but they were unable to recover the projectile itself.

Neighbors were contacted without any leads.

  • At 4:02 a.m. Sunday, a man was arrested for drunk driving after speeding past officers at 75 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone near Main Street and Pilgrim Road. The driver admitted to speeding, and claimed he was lost. The man also admitted to drinking shots of vodka. He had a blood-alcohol level of 0.15. He was arrested and booked for a first-offense OWI.
  • At 10:32 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to a home on the W15000 block of Apple Valley for an altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The 31-year-old female said the 21-year-old man pushed her down the stairs. The man was not at the residence when police arrived, but will be arrested for domestic violence.
  • A 49-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested Sunday after hitting his 27-year-old son several times in the head and face during a fight in a home on the N8000 block of Hiawatha Avenue. The father had a blood-alcohol level of 0.21 according to a preliminary breath test. He was arrested for battery and later posted $500 bail.
  • Between 8 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, a person stole four hard-wired driveway lights from a driveway adjacent to a home on the N7000 block of Northwood Drive.
  • Between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, a suspect vandalized the railroad bridge at Main Street and Town Line Road. The vandals wrote two messages, which aren’t appropriate for Patch to print.
  • At 1:27 a.m. Monday, a man stole a carton of cigarettes from , N83W15701 Appleton Ave., after his credit card was denied. The man fled northbound on Pilgrim Avenue.
  • At 12:39 p.m. Monday, two suspects stole 32 bags of ice salt, worth $223.68, from the C-Store, N48W18028 Lisbon Rd. The suspects loaded the bags into an Ford Econoline van and fled east on Lisbon Road.
