Police Beat: A Fight at Griddlers and Several Drunk Drivers

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls police reports.

You can run, but you can’t hide. Unfortunately for a 20-year-old Menomonee Falls man, he found that out the hard way.

At 2:16 a.m. Sunday, a 38-year-old man dialed 9-1-1 to report a fight in progress at , N88W16747 Appleton Ave. When police arrived on scene, the suspects fled from the restaurant. The 20-year-old man was later found hiding from police, and was one of four suspects involved in the fight.

The man gave police false information to officers, and also admitted to consuming alcohol. The man was arrested for underage alcohol consumption, obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct.

  • Between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday, a suspect entered an unlocked AT&T company van parked outside the company’s facility at W156N8930 Pilgrim Rd. The suspect stole a laptop, a Canon digital camera, prescription medications, a cell phone, numerous credit cards, a $90 Home Depot gift card, $515 in cash, two personal bags containing a wallet and identification cards and other items. The total loss was estimated at $1,851.
  • Between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Monday, between 250 and 300 wooden pallets were stolen from R.J. Schinner Co., N89W14700 Patrita Dr. The total loss is estimated at $1,250, and the business plans to prosecute if a culprit is identified.
  • At 1:44 a.m. Sunday, stopped a 23-year-old woman at the corner of Appleton Avenue and Garfield Drive. Officers found marijuana on the floor of the passenger’s seat, where a 25-year-old Milwaukee man was sitting. The man admitted to smoking marijuana earlier and was arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • At 11:26 p.m. Saturday, officers stopped a 31-year-old Menomonee Falls man on the 16700 block of Appleton Avenue for driving recklessly. The officer detected alcohol and the man had a blood-alcohol level of 0.195 after taking a preliminary breath test. He later blew a 0.16 during a chemical test at the station. He was arrested for his first offense OWI.
  • At 2:29 p.m. Saturday three unknown suspects stole merchandise from , N95W18000 Appleton Ave. The suspects concealed the products in a Kohl’s shopping bag. The suspects fled in a 1998 maroon Chevrolet Lumina.
  • At 3:18 p.m. Saturday, an unknown suspect stole $43.03 worth of gasoline from the , N71W13161 Appleton Ave.
  • Between 4:50 a.m. and 3:19 p.m. Thursday an unknown person smashed the rear window of a vehicle parked at W141N9501 Fountain Blvd. The suspect stole miscellaneous items from the vehicle.
  • At 1:33 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported an intoxicated driver to Waukesha County Communications and provided a vehicle description and direction of travel.  Officers spotted the vehicle at Lannon Road and Silver Spring Road and watched as it pulled into a residence on the W15000 block of Northway Drive. The officer made contact with the man, and he admitted that he didn’t know who lived at the residence and also said he had drank quite a bit. The man blew had a blood-alcohol level of 0.12 according to an intoximeter. He was arrested and cited for drunk driving.
