Here are the highest profile stories Menomonee Falls police and firefighters were a part of this year. The list runs the gambit from tragic, to just strange.

5. RAW VIDEO: Shoplifter Apprehended Outside Pick'n Save

This particular video was a gift – of sorts – for your Patch editor. After purchasing a few groceries for dinner, he stumbled upon a struggle in the parking lot. As a good journalist, he whipped out the iPhone and began filming. When the suspect fled, he even ran after liquor thief to snap a picture of his arrest.

4. Ménage à Trois Proposal Ends in Charges  

They say that three is a crowd, but this particular gathering ended with criminal charges. Some proposals are better left unsaid unless on a bended knee.  

3. RAW VIDEO: Large Fire Ignites at Shady Lane Greenhouse  

Fortunately, there were no injuries after this large fire in fall. Although it looked menacing, it was actually less devastating than it appeared. Shady Lane was open for business the day after the fire was extinguished, but they had plenty of clean-up to do.  

2. Firefighters Battle Barn Fire at Blue Spring Farm  

Again, there were no injuries in this recent unfortunate incident. On the bright side, the aftermath showed everyone how a community can come together and make a tough situation a little easier. In fact, you can still help contribute for an upcoming fundraiser to help the family.  

1. Wife Attacks Husband After Finding Copies of The Onion in Car  

It was a story that could have been pulled straight out of The Onion. But it was real. Interestingly, a story that appeared to come from The Onion later appeared in The Onion. That’s parallel connection that’ll bring tears to your eyes.
