McDonald's Armed Robbery Suspects in Police Custody

Police Chief Anna Ruzisnki told the Village Board Monday that the suspects are in custody after being arrested in Milwaukee.

Police have arrested two suspects believed to be involved in the May 16 armed robbery at McDonald's.

Police Chief Anna Ruzisnki told the Village Board that Milwaukee police arrested the individuals for their involvement armed robberies in Milwaukee. Falls police are currently building their case from the McDonald's robbery to coincide with MPD's.

“We do know who they, and they are currently in custody with another case in Milwaukee,” Ruzinksi said. "We're working on putting our case together to present to the district attorney."

Shortly before 11:25 p.m. May 16, the MFPD responded to the armed robbery at McDonald’s on the corner of Pilgrim Road and Appleton Avenue.

The initial investigation revealed that two black males entered McDonald's with their faces concealed with bandanas and armed with long guns. They demanded and received an undetermined amount of cash.

The armed robbery occurred just days after village officials called for a more comprehensive review of the safety procedures at McDonald's.

In May, the village tabled the franchise owner's request to operate the restaurant portion of the business for 24 hours. The Plan Commission added a provision to McDonald's operating permit requiring three employees to be present in the restaurant at all times if it were to operate 24 hours. Village leaders called for a public hearing to discuss the measure with the owner.

Furthermore, a Plan Commission member was concerned the restaurant was already operating 24 hours. According to its current permit with the village, McDonald's can operate a drive-through 24 hours. However, the restaurent portion must be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. from May to August.

Representatives from McDonald's were supposed to appear Monday before the Village Board to answer questions about their security measures. However, no one from McDonald's was present Monday, and the request was tabled.
