Concealed Carry, Medieval Style

A man was cited March 25 for driving with a sword in his vehicle.

If concealed carry were in the law books during the Middle Ages, the following traffic offense would be a bit more common – sans the motorized vehicle.

At roughly 10:10 p.m. March 25, police stopped a 24-year-old driver near Main Street and Shady Lane because it was known he did not have a valid drivers license. While standing on the passenger’s side of the vehicle during the stop, an officer spotted a four-foot long sword on the passenger’s side of the vehicle.

The sword was within reach of the driver, but was also out of view of the general public between the door and the seat. Police took the sword, took the man into custody, cited him, and released him.
