A 19-year-old Milwaukee man put three children in danger Monday after he crashed his vehicle while attempting to evade officers on U.S. Highway 41/45 in Menomonee Falls.
Authorities say the man battered a woman in Oshkosh, abducted their three children in Fond du Lac, and crashed his Toyota Sequoia in Milwaukee County after a pursuit with police, which began in Menomonee Falls.
At roughly 6 p.m. Monday, the Menomonee Falls Police Department received a request for assistance from the Fond du Lac Police Department in locating the man. He had abducted the three children from a home on Hawthorne Drive in Fond du Lac. His vehicle was spotted on Highway 41/45 and Falls police pursued the vehicle, which he crashed near 124th Street and Highway 145.
The man attempted to flee on foot from the scene, but was taken into custody by police shortly after. The children were hospitalized but not injured during the crash, and arrangements have been made to return them to family members, according to a news release from the MFPD.
The man is expected to face kidnapping charges and other criminal charges for his actions in Oshkosh, Menomonee Falls, and Fond du Lac. The incident is still under investigation by the various law enforcement agencies.
