2 Milwaukee Men Charged With Stealing Copper Wire From Harley-Davidson

The men sold the copper to purchase crack cocaine, according to police.

Two Milwaukee men where charged with stealing thousands of pounds of copper wire from the Harley-Davidson plant off of Pilgrim Road in Menomonee Falls.Β 

Dennis M. Hardwick and William J. Rogers were charged Wednesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with felony theft charges.Β 

One of the men who worked at the plant convinced a coworker to prop open a side door at the plant to allow the spools of wire to be loaded into their vehicle with ease, according to WISN.com. The two men allegedly sold the copper and used the proceeds to purchase crack cocaine. JSOnline reports the pair of men stole 13,800 pounds of wire worth more than $64,000.Β
