The Week Ahead: War Artifacts Museum Up and a Concealed Carry Policy Vote Likely

A look at what's coming up this week in Menomonee Falls.

Veteran's Day at North Middle School: A Veteran’s Day recognition program will be held on Friday beginning at 9 a.m. at North Middle School. The entire community is invited. The program will include patriotic musical selections by the school’s orchestra, band and choir programs, dedicated to the Veterans and their guests.

An artifact museum will be on display for 5 days, from 8 - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at , Room 103, which will include various military memorabilia from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War and more. Veterans groups will be giving tours of the museum.

Concealed carry vote expected Monday: The Village Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at , and will likely . The General Government Committee will be discussion the agenda item at 5:30 p.m. before the board will.

Jazz band concert: The high school jazz band will hold a concert at 6 p.m. Wednesday at MFHS. The concert will be held inside the auditorium.

Local author to dicuss her new book: will be talking about her newly published book "Touring 1938 Europe Unawares" which is a true story of a single lady touring Europe in the weeks leading up to the Munich Conference. 

The book consists of daily entries in her aunt's trip diary, during her two month journey.

Kathy will share some of her aunt's unique experiences in Germany, Austria and France - events that were not on the travel itinerary -  that were influenced by Adolph Hitler's recent annexation of Austria, and his ongoing threats to attack Czechoslovakia.

Distinguished Young Women meeting: An orientation for contestants and parents will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the High School Library.
