First Day of School

Students in the Menomonee Falls School District will head to class for the first time in the 2012-13 school year on Tuesday. Here's a look at the schedule for the first day, which is a little different than the rest of the year.

Village Board Meeting

The Menomonee Falls Village Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Village Hall. The meeting was postponed due to Labor Day.

Blazer Race

Bethlehem Lutheran School, with campuses in Menomonee Falls and Germantown, along with the Germantown Fire Department have once again partnered to present the Blazer Race on Saturday, September 8 beginning at 9 a.m. 

This third annual race features a 5k run and 2-mile walk beginning at Bethlehem Lutheran School's north campus in Germantown (N108 W14290 Bel Aire Lane) and winds its way through Kinderberg Park and the nearby neighborhood before returning back to the school.

Holy Cross Lutheran Block Party

From 1-5 p.m. Saturday, will host a Community Block Party.  The block party is a celebration of the new school year and features affordable food, music, and games for all ages. The event will be held in the Holy Cross parking lot located on Pilgrim Road, just south of Appleton Avenue.

Falls Patch Officer Hours

As a web-based news source, we utilize Facebook and Twitter quite a bit. However, I felt it was time to make myself available in person on a regular basis. So, from 5 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday I will be holding "office hours" in the large study room on the the second floor of the . If the room is full we will definitely find a place to chat.

Parkinson's Support Group

The Arboretum hosts a monthly Parkinson’s Support Group in conjunction with the Wisconsin Parkinson’s Association.  Meetings are for people with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers.  Support group meetings take place the first Thursday of every month at 10:00 am.  No registration is required.  All are welcome.

Free Wireless Workshop

is offering a free wireless workshop about the Android operating system from 8;30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the company’s Menomonee Falls store, located at N95W18141 Appleton Avenue. Reservations are required by registering online at www.verizonwireless.com/workshops. Seating is limited.
