Silver Spring Closure Starts Monday

Road construction season is upon us, and road closures are just around the corner. 

Roosevelt Drive has already been shut down so the village can begin work on an extension of Richfield Way - or more accurately Falls Parkway. The roadway will be shut down until August. 

Another major arterial road will also be shut down starting next week, so start planning your commutes if necessary. Silver Spring Drive will be shut down on Monday. 

The Waukesha County Department of Public Works, in coordination with the DOT, will begin reconstruction on Silver Spring, from just west of the Fox River to Jackson Drive in Falls. The project replace the existing two-lane road with a four-lane roadway along with replacement of the bridges over the Fox River on.   

Local traffic should use caution and expect delays within the construction zone.

Detours for Highway VV and Highway Y will be posted during this time.  Following completion of the bridge construction, the roadway will open to through-traffic on various lane configurations. Work is expected to be completed in mid-November.
