Froedtert Health of Menomonee Falls Adds a Psychiatrist to Its Staff

Froedtert Health in Menomonee Falls has added psychiatrist Christopher Christian, MD, to its medical staff.

A psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. A psychiatrist's training starts with four years of medical school and is followed by a one-year internship  and at least three years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident.

Christian is trained to provide the full scope of psychiatry care for adults and specializes in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).

"I believe psychiatry is a collaborative process between the doctor and patient. I utilize biologic therapies to help my patients attain fuller, happier lives," Christian said. "Psychiatry is a team effort and I believe that multi disciplinary collaboration, with careful attention to both medical and psychological issues, is necessary for optimal care."

Dr. Christian received his Medical Degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York and completed his internship and residency at Medical College of Wisconsin.
