Lime Kiln Park Trail Closed For Repairs

One of the most popular Falls trails is getting a needed facelift and should reopen this weekend.

Falls dog walkers, recreational walkers, bikers, and any other mobile residents will need to take a detour for the next few days.

The trail - arguably the most popular walking route in the village - will be closed for repairs for the next three days. The Department of Public Works is in the midst of a $75,000 repaving project for the entire path.

If you've traveled the path lately, you're well aware of the dismal shape it was in. Director of Engineering Tom Hoffman said workers are also taming the hill by the kilns a bit. Rather than drop off steeply, the path will have a more gradual incline around that corner.

Engineers are also repaving the portion of the path the crosses the bridge and joins Park Boulevard. Hoffman said the path should be open again by the weekend.
