11 Years Later: Never Forgetting September 11, 2001

Ceremony in downtown Milwaukee marks the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our country.

Tuesday’s the 11-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York City, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

Events are not occurring local this year, but in downtown Milwaukee, Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee  County Executive Chris Abele, Gov. Scott Walker, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn and Gurmal Singh of the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin

While the will occur every-other-year, it’s clear the memories of the attack on our nation will stay with residents for the rest of our lives.

Last year, Menomonee Falls police and firefighters assembled on the Pilgrim Road bridge over Highway 41/45 in June to honor victims of the attack .

Falls also held a solemn ceremony on Sept. 10 last year . This year, Police Chief Anna Ruzinski will sing the "National Anthem" before Tuesday's Brewers game at Miller Park. There will be a brief ceremony honoring law enforcement and first responders.
