Tokoto Scores 48 in Victory, Sets Another Scoring Record
JP Tokoto put the boys basketball team on his back Tuesday and carried the team to a 72-68 victory over Catholic Memorial.
Records keep falling this year for the Menomonee Falls boys basketball team.
Senior JP Tokoto scored 48 points and set a school single-game scoring record as he put the team on his back and led the Indians (12-9, 7-6 Greater Metro) to a 72-68 non-conference victory over Catholic Memorial (11-10, 5-8 Classic 8) Tuesday in Menomonee Falls.
Tokoto drained 17 baskets from the field and added two more from behind the arc. He also went 8-12 from the free-throw line, according to statistics from Wissports.net. Tokoto was the only player to score double digits.
Tokoto's 48-point performance will pad his school career scoring record, which he set during a game against West Allis Central in January. He scored 30 points in that game, which was later forfeited due to an athletic code violation by a player on the team. However, the stats remained in tact.
Senior CJ Malone also set the school record for most three-pointers in a career on Jan. 4 in a 55-52 win over Plymouth.
After a slow start, the Indians have put things together in the second half of the season and have won 8 of their last 10 games since the forfeited game, which would have been a victory. The Indians earned the fourth seed in the state tournament, and they will face Waukesha West in the first round.
The Indians will wrap up the season with a home game at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against West Allis Hale (5-16, 0-13 Greater Metro).

Jerry: You forgot to mention that we all had the opportunity to hear the best announcer in the conference...not to mention seeing the best "Varsity Dance" performance ever.
