Fire Department Auxiliary Sponsoring Spaghetti Dinner

For most of us, we will never need to see apparatus from the Menomonee Falls Fire Department parked outside our homes or businesses and we watch them extinguish a blaze. However, it's always a comfort to know the volunteers and staff who comprise the force are there to put their lives on the line for you.

In an era of tight municpal budgets; however, there are needs at the MFFD that aren't always satisfied in the annual budget. That's a void the relatively new citizen's group, The Kindling, hope to fill.

The Kindling is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. July 10 at Station #3, W140N7501 Lilly Rd. The price is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-12. Children under ages 3 and under eat free. The dinner includes spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert and a beverage. MFFD firefighters will perform training drills at 6:30 p.m.

The Kindling hosted its first fundraiser in June 2011. The group is dedicated to providing a network of support to the MFFD and the community. That includes hydration and nourishment to firefighter and emergency medical technicians when they are required to be at an emergency scene for an extended period of time; financial aid; and building public awareness of and support for the work done by the department.
