Sheriffs Arrest Suspect in Connection to Richfield Assault
The 19-year-old suspect allegedly confessed to attacking a 20-year-old Menomonee Falls woman July 12.
The Washington County Sheriff's Department has arrested a suspect in connection to the assault of a 20-year-old Menomonee Falls woman.
Sheriffs arrested a 19-year-old Richfield man, who is the prime suspect in an assault that occurred July 12 at the Richfield Historical Park. The 20-year-old woman was walking her dog. She was treated and released for injuries. The Menomonee Falls Police Department assisted in the investigation, and interviewed the girl from a home on Appleton Avenue.
She said the man came toward her brandishing a knife. The woman struggled with the man, and attempted to take the knife. In the process, she was injured but able to escape. She fled and called police from a Menomonee Falls home.

Police identified the suspect through department records, which showed his vehicle being checked by a deputy in the park on July 1.
During a subsequent interview with detectives, the man confessed to the attack. The man is currently being held in the Washington County Jail, and charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and aggravated battery will be referred to the District Attorney’s office.
