Betty received a Bachelor&#39;s Degree in Communication from Methodist University with an emphasis on print journalism. She was a staff writer, and then the editor for the college newspaper “The Monarch” where she was the author of several different columns including one that featured her take on new, unique or interesting things in her hometown.  She was the recipient of the “Fayetteville Observer Outstanding Contribution in Collegiate Journalism Award” in 1991.  After she graduated she worked as a writer in the Features Department of   the Fayetteville Observer.  She met her husband who is originally from Port Washington when he was stationed at Pope Air Force Base.  She has lived in Port Washington for 16 years where she is raising her 3 children ages 19, 17 and 12.  During her time in Port Washington she has worked in many of the local restaurants to bring in extra money for her family.

She convinced her identical twin sister Barbara into moving here 15 years ago (yes there are two of them).  These days she spends her free time with her 3 children and her twin sister. Barbara will likely be joining her on a few of her excursions around Port Washington and Saukville in search of unique experiences.  She has a beautiful 1 year old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier named Willow who she spoils rotten and loves to take for walks around town.  She is also currently working on a novel with her twin when she is not busy helping her 12  year old daughter Emmalee take care of her two pet rats Chandler and Joey.
