It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

Best wishes to you Carl I enjoyed reading up on the news everyday. Being from Jackson and having aRead More store in Men Falls it was a great way to stay connected. Yet another business will be closing next month and advertising is probably a big reason. A) too many people just don't read newspapers and I'm guessing not enough read the patch to keep it going B) the newspapers that exist are not read - In Jackson I had advertised with the Express News because it was really cheep when it first started, but that community had long standing Hartford/West Bend BOoster and Sunday Post papers that were more widely read. When I advertised in the Express I got little activity, not so in the other papers. So when I found out that the Express News was basically the only paper in Men Falls I felt doomed. Men Falls is on the corner of counties so it's hard to advertise - 3 papers I could be in, 5 coupon books, how do businesses survive. Us little guys can't afford all of them all the time. I feel sorry for restaurants as so many people are picking their supper plans by what coupons they have. Small businesses opt to pay high rent in strip malls as they are suppose to be on busy streets with lots of traffic. Well Appleton Ave is busy but with all the trees out there you think you're just passing through a residential neighborhood. I think the village does overkill with beautification - those trees are way too big you can't hardly see the businesses, if people can't see us, they don't come and we go out of business. Signage is also a problem, I've been on my landlord for 3 years to put signage on the street??? Well the village is partially to blame for that as they won't allow a second post and the first post would be way to busy with 16 businesses in my section. When you look at the demographics it sounds like a great place to be that you are in the middle of like 93000 people within 10 minutes of your store, but the problem is we butt up against large towns like Waukesha, Germantown, Brown Deer that have every thing people need there. Unless you need some specialty store in my area you can shop your own area and never find me. I probably get yelled at once a day by a customer that is upset she just found me - like it's my fault she didn't know. Was always going to give Patch a shot just never got there. Thanks for everyone's patronage over the last 4 years. If you need AVON after I close call 262 251 4199 to get on our door to door mailing list. Jackie

Carl, it has been a pleasure to read the Menomonee Falls patch, even though I was late in findingRead More it. Am sorry to hear that it has come to an end. Was wondering why things had changed, lately. This is the answer. I wish you the best in your quest for new employment. There is someone out there who will be thankful to have you as an employee. Keep up the good work. God go with you.

Good luck Carl! We were fortunate to have you write 2 articles on our home. We had a house fireRead More June 2010 and you wrote about our return 85 days later in August. They were nice pieces and we appreciated the care with which you treated us and our situation. You will be missed!

Carl, if you plan on looking further into this story, it would be worth your time to check out fireRead More station #1 (near Appleton and Main). I can get the names of several fire fighters who have had paranormal experiences there. They have some hair raising stories!

Nice hair raising story to read as we just bought a house in Menomonee Falls! Enjoyable at this timeRead More of year. Has anyone done any research as to "who" this could be and "why" she roams there? That would be interesting

Think what the public schools or the Food Pantry could do with even a portion of $1.5 million, butRead More no we "need a new and improved trail". Does that make any sense?

What about the danger of riding or jogging on pavement covered in wet leaves and perhaps ice.Read More Compacted gravel is far superior for tire or shoe traction. As an avid bicyclist, I will stay off the trail once it is paved.

Darn it. I really wanted it to be made a true multipurpose trail like the one that runs from monroeRead More wisconsin to mineral point. That trail takes walkers, runners, bikers, horses with riders, ATV's. Its awesome. This would have been perfect.

Jane - I own a gun and don't kill (living) things with it. Many pieces of paper, cardboard, sodaRead More cans, milk/water jugs have fallen to my mahem. Or are you against me "killing" inanimate objects too? You did not specifically define what "things" you're against killing. Your communication skills need work. PS don't rebut by using that old cliche "common sense" or "you know what I mean". I'm not psychic. Also, I'm sure you've killed many living things in your life, or had them killed. Insects come to mind.

Okay, I bought 3 of these tickets when the sale started. They give away the gift cards toward theRead More CASH VALUE of the particular firearm listed, not the firearm itself. The winner can use the gift card toward whatever they want in the store. Perhaps if you narrow-minded, illiterate liberals would actually READ the article before going off half-cocked, things in this country would be just a bit better! Feel free to be angry with me, once you get someone to read my post to you...
Bitter Clinger September 8, 2013 at 06:34 am
I just heard about this from talk radio and will pursue getting a ticket to support them and thisRead More isn't my FD! It sounds like you don't have to get the gun if you win. Leftard winners could always get another pair of berkies. Think about this "If you don't like guns, don't buy one". Now wasn't that easy?
