Falls Student Hosting Community Blood Drive

The American Red Cross recently issued an emergency request for donations lower than expected in June.

A Menomonee Falls High School student is hosting a community blood drive in the wake of the American Red Cross issuing an emergency blood drive request.

The Red Cross on July 9 issued an emergency donation request after reporting a 10 percent decrease in donations last month. MFHS senior Emily Suetholz is organizing a blood drive from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Menomonee Falls Public Library.

“With many regular donors on vacation or busy, and school out of session, it is important for us to remember that patients don't get a break form needing blood,” Suetholz said.
