Lannon Village President Jerry Newman says they’re expecting up to 300 different types of cars, from hot rods to street cars, according to the Sussex Sun. A DJ will even be playing 50s and 60s music, and door prizes will awarded at 2 p.m.

Newman said the Lannon Village Board decided to take over the event after it became too large for the resident who started it to continue organizing it.  He said Cars on Main once brought 3,000 people through Lannon.

"We (Village Board) always supported it in the past. It's a popular event; people like to be on Main Street, so we decided as a village to bring it back," Newman told the Sun.

The event is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“We encourage everybody to come on out and meet your local Firefighters/EMT’s and grab a bite to eat while you’re here,” the firefighters wrote in a statement.
