Say Goodbye to the Lunar Landscape On the Lepper Dam Island

The island will be landscaped by Wednesday, completing the work started last year.

Everyone that has stopped at the large waterfall this summer has had a wonderful lunar landscape to look at, which is the island at Lepper Dam.

The upside is that the Mill Pond has water in it as opposed to last year.  However, the lunar landscape on the island is about to change. By Wednesday Johnson's Nursery will transform this bleak landscape into a lush new look.

Our heron that swooped into town over a week ago will have some vegetation to strut around in and the beautiful brides will have a worthy backdrop.  Our Village Centre will have one of its centerpieces back and Tim and I can't wait.

I have to say, I was a little disappointed with the "landscaping" - lush new look is not how I would describe it. It's pretty sparse - could have done a much better job utilizing rock formations, more vegetation...........I'd give it a C- at best

Kristine, I remember when Development Director Matt Carran presented the plan to the board. He said it's going to take about three years before it fills in fully if that changes your opinion at all on the landscaping.

Carl, Yes, I realize some time is needed for plants/trees to grow, but in the mean time a lot more could have been done, like I said, some rock formations, etc. Right now it looks like they just plunked random plants down with "alot" of space in between. Just my opinion - could have even put in some annuals for now..........

"Disappointing"....really? Unhappy, bitter, nothing is good enough people are everywhere these days. How about looking at the other end of the "half empty" glass for once. Have you EVER given ANYTHING an A+????? Thank you Village for the improvements! Love the view!

I too like what has been done around the Lepper Dam. Took a drive last weekend to see it at night. The lights are great and add a lot to this once dismal space. I thank the tax payers of the Falls for this improvement.
