It's just a simple thing

snow and ice on the sidewalks

Sometimes it is the simplest things in winter that make your life better.  I have decided it is the plowing and salting of the sidewalks over the river.  The last winters I gingerly walked thru the ruts and ice reminding myself I needed those metal grippers you put on the bottom of your boots. (still don't have) Once you made it to Associated Bank or Stanford Art Glass you were safe - they shoveled, plowed and salted.  But the nemisis was always the bridge.  With no land under it the snow and ice just sat like a creature from one of those scary childhood books.  Staring you down, daring you to cross.  Well something miraculous has happened this winter- the bridge has been plowed and today I watch with a happy sigh, as the little salter tootled along leaving a path of salt behind.  Thank you Village of Menomonee Falls!  Our visitors that set up their cameras or just traverse the bridge to look at the waterfall (one of the best views in the Falls - my opinion) and the people that park and walk to our restaurants and shops thank you.   You have made life much easier for all of us and it was just a simple thing.
