Silver Spring Construction Starting Later in April

The roadway will be expanded from two lanes to four. Drivers can expect delays and detours until mid-November.

Construction season is upon us, and the Department of Transporation announced that shovels will hit the dirt on Silver Spring Drive later this month.

The Waukesha County Department of Public Works, in coordination with the DOT, will begin reconstruction on Silver Spring, from just west of the Fox River to Jackson Drive in Falls. The project replace the existing two-lane road with a four-lane roadway along with replacement of the bridges over the Fox River on .   

Local traffic should use caution and expect delays within the construction zone.

Construction is set to begin Monday, April 22.  The road will remain closed until the bridge work is completed in mid-September. 

Detours for Highway VV and Highway Y will be posted during this time.  Following completion of the bridge construction, the roadway will open to through-traffic on various lane configurations. Work is expected to be completed in mid-November.
