'Abraham Lincoln' to Visit Menomonee Falls July 21

The annual Civil War Encampment opens July 20 at Old Falls Village.

In just over a week, a conflict resolved nearly 150 years ago will be reignited in Menomonee Falls.

The 14th Civil War Encampment returns to the village at 10 a.m. July 20-21 at Old Falls Village. The annual event features artillery drills, battle re-enactments, and even an old-fashioned tar-and-feathering of a village malcontent.

The event is a chance to experience life much like it was when the nation was torn apart. Apart from the battles, the event includes cooking demonstrations, storytelling, Civil War memorabilia, food and other entertainment. You will also have the chance to meet Abraham Lincoln, or the closest version of him we have in 2013.

All of the buildings on the grounds will be open for viewing. The cost to enjoy the Civil War Encampment is $5 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free admission for kids under 12.
