Tokoto Drops 30 in Record-Setting Performance

Tokoto is now the all-time leading scorer at Menomonee Falls.

Those in attendance Friday at the boys basketball game won’t soon forget the name Jean-Pierre Tokoto, but neither will future generations of players who aspire for greatness on the Indians basketball team.

Tokoto needed 21 points to set the all-time career scoring record set by Brad Christenson, who scored 1,427 career points set between 1990-93. Tokoto didn’t leave the home crowd hanging, and put up 30 points leading the Indians to a comfortable 66-47 victory over West Allis Central.

Tokoto broke the record after draining a three-pointer early in the fourth quarter, which gave the Indians a 51-40 lead. The crowd knew the significance of the shot, and chanted “J.P.”

Tokoto added seven more points in the fourth, and is will set the bar that much higher every time he steps on the court the rest of his senior year.

Before the game, Head Coach Dan Leffel honored CJ Malone for setting the career record for three-pointers in a season against Plymouth. After the game, Christenson presented Tokoto with a game ball, and a plaque to mark the occasion.
