Essentials: Central is breaking in a new quarterback, after starter Brandon Danowski suffered a ruptured spleen against Brookfield East in the first conference game. Dakota Behrs threw for two scores against Tosa East last week on 17 attempts. The Bulldogs had an 18-0 lead against Catholic Memorial in the opener before giving up 39 consecutive points. Falls will try to get its offense back on track after Brookfield East held it to under 100 yards in last week’s shutout. It’s the next-to-last home game for the Indians, who follow up with consecutive road games at Hamilton and at Marquette. They have a balanced running attack, with four players between 105 and 206 yards. Quarterback Brett Krause leads that group and also has five TD passes vs. one interception.

On Patch: Troy Sparks will cover the game for Patch.

Hamilton (3-1, 1-1 GMC) at West Allis Hale (1-3, 0-2 GMC)

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at West Allis Hale High School

Last year: Hamilton defeated the Huskies 28-13.

Last week: ; Hale lost to Marquette 27-6.

Essentials: A promising season for the Chargers took a major shot to the hull last week, when Hamilton not only lost but also suffered a series of major injuries. Leading rusher Nick Patterson (535 yards, 11 TDs, 12.2 YPC) suffered a seriously dislocated elbow last week. Quarterback Matt Judson and all-conference safety Aaron Mushall also were hurt. Hale has dropped three in a row after surprising Cedarburg in Week 1. The Huskies have just 36 points in those three games. Hamilton, despite losing, is fourth in the RPI rankings compiled by WisSports.net. They take into account a team’s winning percentage, plus the winning percentage of their opponents, and the opponents’ opponents. The Chargers also are ranked ninth in the area by the Journal Sentinel and 15th in the statewide Division 2 WisSports.net coaches poll.

On Patch: Gregg Paul will cover the game for Patch.

Brookfield Central (3-1, 2-0 GMC) at Marquette (2-2, 1-1 GMC)

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at

Last year: The Hilltoppers shut out Brookfield Central 27-0.

Last week: ; Marquette defeated West Allis Hale 27-6

Essentials: Marquette’s Matt Misiewicz is fourth in the state with 476 receiving yards but the Hilltoppers have not been a high-powered team, relatively speaking. They were shut out by Franklin and then managed only 17 points against Sussex Hamilton. The Lancers, on the other hand, have found the end zone with increasing frequency, scoring 20 points in a Week 1 loss, then 24, 34 and 56, respectively, in subsequent victories. It’s come primarily on the ground, led by quarterback Jason Meichtry (353 yards, 5 TDs) and tailback DeMario Harris (351 yards, 7 TDs). This game is the WISN Game of the Week, as voted by visitors to the TV station’s website. Central is ranked eighth in the area by the Journal Sentinel and also 14th in the statewide Division 2 WisSports.net coaches poll.

Tosa East (1-3, 0-2 GMC) at Brookfield East (4-0, 2-0 GMC)

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at

Last year: Brookfield East triumphed 26-12.

Last week: ; .

Essentials: The Red Raiders’ chances for an upset reside with their ability to avoid turnovers. They like to throw it but Kyle Vnuk has been intercepted 11 times, despite completing a respectable 48 percent of his passes for 638 yards. East, meanwhile, has been a defensive wall and got plenty of attention in shutting out the Indians last week. The Spartans have outscored opponents 166-13 so far. A victory here would have the Spartans undefeated heading into the following Thursday’s showdown with crosstown rival Brookfield Central. East is ranked 10th in the area by the Journal Sentinel and also is sixth in the statewide Division 2 WisSports.net coaches poll.

On Patch: Tim Bryce will cover the game for Brookfield Patch and Wauwatosa Patch.
