Former Badger Chosen as Falls Swimming Coach

You can meet Eric Johnson, and University of Wisconsin - Madison graduate, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Menomonee Falls High School cafeteria.

Menomonee Falls High School has selected Eric Johnson to lead the boys swim program.  

Johnson, a former University of Wisconsin-Madison swimmer, has agreed to lead the cooperative team of Menomonee Falls, Germantown, and Sussex. Johnson’s last swim coaching assignment was at Birmingham Southern College as an assistant coach under Toby Wilcox. 

“I bring a new face to the program and a fresh start,” said Johnson. “My first and foremost goal will be to make practice the place to be and swimming the thing to do.”

You can meet Johnson at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the MFHS cafeteria. 

“The selection team and I are excited to add Eric Johnson to the MFHS coaching staff,” said Athletic Director Ryan Anderson.  “I am excited to see how Eric uses his gift of recruiting the boys at Falls, Germantown, and Hamilton to increase the numbers of swimmers in our program.  I am confident that he is the right fit for our young athletes.  I am eager to see what he can do on the pool deck.”

Johnson said he will bring an renewed sense of enthusiasm to the program next year. 

“My strength is to ‘read and lead,’” said Johnson. "With the enthusiasm I bring to each and every practice, meet and even meetings, our swimmers will catch on quickly to my high expectations for our team and how fast we can climb.”

Johnson will be seeking a dive coach.  The position is posted on WECAN and applicants are encouraged to apply no later than July 15, 2013.  If you have questions about the opening, please call MFHS Athletic Director, Ryan Anderson.
