The Indians defeated the Sussex Hamilton Chargers handily Thursday.

The Menomonee Falls varsity wrestling team continued its winning ways Thursday against cross-town rivals Sussex Hamilton.

The Indians defeated the Chargers 68-6 on the home mats. The Indians continue to be a dominant team in the Greater Metro Conference, and the team loaded with ranked talent.

Here’s where individual Falls wrestlers stand according the latest Division 1 state rankings:

  • 106 Pounds: Aaron Daly, sophomore, #9
  • 113 Pounds: Jerrot Holz, freshman, #13
  • 120 Pounds: Billy Holz, sophomore, #7
  • 182 Pounds: Ayoola Olapo, senior, #4

Junior Jake Fuiten was named the team’s wrestler of the week. Between Jan. 7 and Jan. 12, Fuiten went 4-1, and took 5th place in the Sauk Prairie Varsity Tournament. The team travels to West Allis Central for its next varsity meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 17.

Watched them Thursday night. They have to use the bleachers on sides of the gym, the home stands were packed. Not only do they have ranked wrestlers, they have outstanding talent in all their weight classes. Head coach Jim McMahom and his staff have done a great job both in season and off season. The bad news is they only have one home meet left, Thursday, January 24. Mark it down and come on out, they'll find a seat for you. I know I plan on taking my grandson, he'll love it.
