Falls Opens WIAA Tournament with 5-2 Victory

Indians scored all their runs in the first inning against eighth-seeded Slinger; Brookfield Central is next.

Menomonee Falls, seeded first in its sectional, scored five runs in the bottom of the first and made them stand up in a 5-2 victory over Slinger in the first round of the WIAA summer baseball tournament.

The Indians (20-10) meet Brookfield Central at 11 a.m. Friday at Germantown. The winner comes back at 5 p.m. to face the winner of Brookfield East and Pewaukee for a trip to state.

According to results at WisSports.net, Joe Sanicola was 2-for-2 for Menomonee Falls on Tuesday. Troy Kenkel threw five innings and was the winning pitcher.
