“We had a bit of a hangover after the Wauwatosa East game,” Falls coach Ben Siebert said. “But the kids have gotten over that. We’ve been working on some stuff this week. We know we have a daunting task ahead of us. The kids are really excited about playing in this tournament,” Siebert said. “It should be a good bonding experience for us.”

About Abraham Lincoln High School: The legendary Brooklyn school has an extensive list of famous graduates that include Nobel Prize winning chemist Paul Berg, actor Louis Gossett, Jr.; legendary basketball announcer Marv Albert and current NBA player Sebastian Telfair, who plays with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Railsplitters are continuing their tradition of excellence on the basketball court this season.

Lincoln, 10-0 in the Brooklyn AA league, beat league rival East New York Transit Tech, 70-51 on Jan. 11.

Leading the Railsplitters is point guard Shaquille Stokes, a 5-11 senior who is averaging 18 points per game. Junior forward Kamari Murphy, a 6-9 junior, is averaging 15 points and 11 rebounds per game.

Lincoln coach Dwayne Morton said his team is equally comfortable running the fast break or playing the half-court game. But the Railsplitters are used to playing at a fast pace because of the use of a 35-second clock in New York City basketball.
