Brett Hartmann Named to Website's All-Rookie Team

Menomonee Falls native punted and kicked well before season-ending injury.

Menomonee Falls native Brett Hartmann was named to the NFL All-Rookie team by Football Outsiders, a website dedicated to deep statistical analysis.

Hartmann, a punter and kickoff specialist, was signed by the Houston Texans late in preseason and played 12 games. He punted for a 44.4-yard gross average with a 37.8 net, both solid figures. Football Outsiders credited Hartmann with 23 touchbacks in 50 kickoffs, and he set team records for touchbacks in a half (five), game (six) and season.

He suffered a non-contact injury on Dec. 4, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in a knee, according to the Houston Chronicle. The incident ended his season.
