Outstanding effort by both teams. Both squads have head coaches who win and lose with class. Both student bodies were well behaved, loud and really into the game. It was great for the band to be there for the whole game. Friday night football between two rivals...if you weren't there, you missed out on what makes Friday night high school football the best sports value money can buy. Come out for this Fridays home game against Marquette game see what I'm talking about.

Someone please help me out. When I look at the video above provided by the Patch....it appears Hamilton's onside kick hits off Adam Vechart leg and he reaches and touches it again with his right arm prior to any Hamilton player touching the ball. Am I seeing things?

After further review....it should not have made a difference whether or not #12 of MF touched the ball. It appears the ball travels more than the required 10 yards before anyone touches the ball. At that point, either team can recover the ball. Originally, and I think correctly, the refs awarded the ball to Hamilton, since #13 of Hamilton appeared to recover the football. Then the refs huddled and called Hamilton for "illegal touching", which would indicate they felt a Hamilton player touched the ball before it went the required 10 yards. I think they messed up this call.....it is too bad, it would have been interesting to see how Hamilton would have done if they had the ball at the 50 yard line with 3 minutes and 3 timeouts instead of finally getting it at the 17 yard line with 1 minute and no timeouts. Yes....I'm a Hamilton fan, but tell me if I'm wrong when you look at the video provided by the Patch.

No you viewed it right. Only to find out that the FALLS WERE CHEATING!

It's a good question ... when I did the video I had to watch repeatedly to see if the ball clipped the leg of No. 11 on Hamilton. And watching it again just now, I still can't tell. If not, there's no question Falls touched the ball first, making it a live ball immediately. Perhaps the Falls Cable Access channel had a better angle; I haven't watched it there.
