The team competed in the Chicagoland National Championship March 6, which was sponsored by the Great Lakes Championship Company. It was the first time the team competed in the competition, but as they say, the first time is a charm.

The girls placed 3rd in their hip-hop routine, and placed 1st in their pom routine. Because of their high scores, the girls were named the grand champions of the entire dance competition.

“We are very, very proud, and I think we kind of surprised ourselves when we went down there,” said second-year head coach, Jennifer Hardy. “It was a great weekend enjoyed by all, definitely."

The girls brought home a collection banners, metals and trophies from the competition. They were honored Monday at the Village Board meeting.
