PHOTOS: Chalk It Up To Summer Fun

Hundreds of kids of all ages gathered at North Middle School to decorate the sidewalk squares outside the building.

This summer seems like a great opportunity to decorate sdiewalks with old fashioned colored chalk. For all we know, the artistic drawings crafted by children Wednesday may stick around for months - given the amount of rain we've seen.

Every year, children from all ages participate in the event sponsored by the Menomonee Fall Communicty Education and Recreation Department. This year, more tahn 135 children got out in the sun and beautified the sidewalk.

If you are in the area, take a minute to check out the colorful walkways - before we get that much-needed rainfall.

If you took a few pictures during the event Wednesday, upload them to Patch and share your sidewalk art.

This was the second year that we have participated in this event. My children LOVE it. It's a free event and all you have to do is register through the Menomonee Falls Park and Rec site. They even supply the chalk. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for something to fill in an afternoon during the summer for your children.
