5. 2 MFHS Coaches Resign Following Alcohol-related Misconduct  

Two track coaches, and a volunteer, were caught consuming alcohol at a track meet late in the season in fall. The district employed both coaches and both ultimately resigned from their positions.

4. Dylan Smith's Love For Life Inspired Community  

Students at North Middle School, and the community as a whole, mourned the loss of their beloved classmate who was an inspiration to everyone he met. You might remember the T-shirt sale the seventh-graders held earlier this year to fund a new wheelchair for him. Dylan will be missed, but never forgotten.

The spring 2012 School Board election was heated to say the least. In the midst of the gubernatorial recall election, a nonpartisan School Board election quickly became a partisan election.

1. Falls High School Student Charged With Threatening to Shoot Up The School  

In something that is becoming all too common, school administrators addressed a potential threat from a student. That student was eventually charged and pled guilty in the Waukesha County Circuit Court.
