North Middle School Hires New Principal

Lynn Grimm has 21 years experience teaching middle school, and will replace Dr. Tabia Nicholas.

Lynn Grimm always wanted to be a teacher and took leadership roles in nearly every venture in and out of class.

Now, she’s going to lead .

Grimm on Thursday was named principal of North, replacing Dr. Tabia Nicholas who took a job in administration with the Waukesha School District.

Grimm said she is excited to be a leader of such an exceptional staff and in the Menomonee Falls School District and community.

“The community and support for students is amazing. I truly feel the students receive a high level of education when they come here,” she said.

Grimm has taught middle school for 21 years, specializing in math, all in Menomonee Falls.

“I’m passionate about the students growing and taking them from their current place academically and socially, and helping them pursue excellence,” she said.

Beyond being an excellent teacher, she has focused on the development of colleagues within the district as well.

Grimm’s background includes leadership positions in whatever she has done. She earned National Board Certification in 2004 and has been a leader at the state and national level through National Boards.  She is a board member for Wisconsin National Board Network Nonprofit Organization, among many other accomplishments and leadership roles.

“Lynn demonstrates the skills of an instructional leader. She is Nationally Board Certified, is a leader at the state and national level, and she has a vision for North that will continue to enhance the skills of the strong staff they have,” said Dr. Patricia Greco, Superintendent of the Menomonee Falls School District. “Her mission is to connect deeply with parents and the community. She will be a great partner on the leadership team. The future for North is very promising.”

Grimm earned a Master of Science degree in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch College in 1996. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a math minor from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1991. Grimm holds instruction and principal licenses as well.

Grimm has received an Excellent Educator Award from the Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth, the Southeastern Wisconsin Assessment Collaborative Award from Alverno College, has earned her Professional Development Certificate and has been named Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year.

Grimm’s salary is $95,000.

She is a native of Red Wing, Minn., just southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul.  Her father was a nuclear plant leader and mother was a registered nurse.

Grimm lives in the Town of Erin with her husband, son and daughter. In spare time, the family enjoys snowmobiling, skiing and snowboarding.
