Menomonee Falls High School Associate Principal Accepts New Post

Michael Harris will take the job as principal of Lake Shore Middle School in the Mequon-Thiensville School District

Menomonee Falls High School Associate Principal Michael Harris will drop ‘associate’ from his title next year as he assumes his new role as principal of Lake Shore Middle School in Mequon.

Harris will replace Carrie Wilson, Lake Shore principal since 2007. For the past six years, Harris has served as an associate principal at Thomas Jefferson, North Middle School and Menomonee Falls High School. His resignation is effective July 1.

“It has been my genuine pleasure to serve the community and the students of the Menomonee Falls School District,” Harris said. “It is truly rewarding for me to see the first class that I worked with at Thomas Jefferson graduating this spring. Empowering children and providing the necessary structures to assist them in achieving academic goals has been most gratifying.”

Superintendent Keith Marty said Harris positively impacted the district and students through his hard work ethic and dedication to professionalism. He continually pushed students to achieve at a higher level.

“Mr. Harris approached his work with students and staff in the utmost professional manner. He set high standards of academic achievement and behavior for students,” Marty said. “Mike Harris was a class act in all he did in our school district.”

An extensive search will be conducted by the school district to identify the best candidate to fill his position.
