Girls Basketball Team Drops First Game; Tokoto Leads Boys to Win

Both teams playing on the road in holiday tournaments.

Menomonee Falls’ girls basketball lost its first game of the season Wednesday night, when Lakeside Lutheran scored with 2.2 seconds left in a 57-56 win in the Fort Atkinson Holiday Tournament.

The Watertown Daily Times reported that the Indians (8-1) led 40-25 late in the third quarter before Lakeside Lutheran commenced a furious rally. Mikayla Robertson sank five 3-pointers and scored 22 points for Menomonee Falls.

Falls faces Kenosha Bradford on Thursday.

The boys team, on the other hand, got 31 points from JP Tokoto to beat host Waterford 60-54 in the first round of the Waterford Holiday Classic.

The Racine Journal Times reported that the Indians hit 16 of 22 free throws, outscoring Waterford by eight at the line.

Falls (2-4) takes on Beloit Memorial in the championship game on Thursday.
