Funding Effort for FieldTurf at Schumann Stadium in the Works

Junior Indians Football Program proposes fund raising effort for field improvements.

A fundraising effort to replace the grass at Schumann Stadium with synthetic FieldTurf is in the early steps of moving forward.

School Board Member Ron Bertieri announced on Monday that representatives with the Junior Indians Football Program, Doug Menne and Lou Sanicola, reached out to the district to propose a funding program for the improvements.

The Junior Indians would raise a significant portion of the funds with the Menomonee Falls Booster Club pitching in the difference. Biertieri said there might be a significant donation in the works to kick-start the funding for the FieldTurf.

“If it is approved they would raise all the funds necessary for the improvements,” Bertieri said.

Bertieri said there would be no cost to the district. He told the board that he was hesitant to move forward with the proposal at this point with so many questions still surrounding the budget. There are no details regarding costs for the project at this point.
