Falls School District Seeking Student Board Member

The School Board is currently accepting applications from juniors and seniors that want to fill the open seat on the board. Let your voice be heard, but also get great experience on that college resume.

Do you have a future in politics? Want to be a leader? Or do you just want to see some changes at or the district as a whole?

Well don’t just sit idly by wishing there was something you could do – because there is. The Menomonee Falls School Board is currently accepting applications for the open seat of Student School Board Member.

The student board member serves an advisory role to the other members of the School Board. You don’t get a vote, but the student board member can provide crucial insights from a student’s perspective that could guide future policy and other decisions.

The student board member must attend televised board meetings that occur at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of every month at Village Hall. They must come to meetings prepared, and act as a liaison to communicate board decisions to students and other interested parties in the community.

All applicants for the student board member must either be juniors or seniors. To earn the spot, interested students must first fill out the attached application, receive a recommendation, and go through an interview.

The well-known 2012 MFHS graduate, Andy Stoiber, served the student board member role last year.

Applications for the position of student board member must be completed and returned by Sept. 11.
