Basic Computing for Senior Citizens Class

During these two-hour classes senior citizens will learn fundamental computer skills and basic features of the Windows Vista operating system. Part I is mostly lecture, and Part II is part lecture and part hands-on. Registration is required. A practice period for those who would like to stay longer will run from 11 to 11:45 a.m.

These classes have been designed to meet the needs of senior citizens who don't know how to use computers and who might have been reluctant to learn. Only one computer skill will be covered during each class, and the pace will be slow so true beginners will be able to gradually build confidence. By the end of the course, participants will be able to use computers to find books in the library, prepare letters, and use the Internet to find information and to send and receive e-mail. They will also have an idea of what to look for if they decide to purchase a computer. Registration is required.

Please do not register for this class if you have taken this class before, are not really a beginner, or cannot attend all 6 classes. If you have already completed this class and would like to review what you learned, please take “Computer Review for Senior Citizens” on October 22.
